Do you have an interest in construction and wish to be an apprentice at our climate-controlled facility in Madison? Windsor Building Systems specializes in factory-built custom home construction components such as roof trusses, floor decks, and wall panels.  Our goal with the apprenticeship program is to educate the next generations on the various aspects of component building and the various positions within such a facility.

RESPONSIBILITIES / LEARNING

• Processes include positioning materials, fitting parts, and assembling materials following blueprint specifications
• Accurately layout materials according to design plans
• Precisely measure and cut building materials
• Verify all dimensions of parts and accuracy of assembly
• Ensure that assembled items meet specific quality specifications
• Assist in daily cleanup of work areas

QUALIFICATIONS

• Participation in the Dane County School Consortium program as a high school youth apprentice.
• Basic construction experience preferred
• Knowledge of various lumber types and building materials
• Knowledge of hand and power tools

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Squat, bend kneel, and stand for extended periods.  Occasionally lifting of up to 50lbs.

PAY: $14 to $16 per hour

EXPECTED HOURS: Production Hours of Operation: 6:00 am – 2:30 pm

ANTICIPATED WORK SCHEDULE: We are willing to be flexible depending on school schedule.
